Were building and operating the worlds most sophisticated battery systems to enable the uptake of more renewable power and accelerating fleet electrification, de-risking the transition to zero-emission transport at scale. Weve been consistently innovative since we were founded in 2017, achieving major industry firsts and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers. At the end of their life, we repurpose electric vehicle batteries to provide clean power at depots, on construction sites and film sets.

We have 735 MW of operational and under construction grid scale battery capacity and are the premiere fleet electrification partner for fleets, globally supporting over 1,500+ vehicles across nearly 150 sites (UK, Benelux, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and North America). THE OPPORTUNITY

As we continue to grow in the US and Canadian markets, we are looking for an experienced Grant Administrator to play an imperative role in supporting our customers access to grant funding for electric buses as well as support sales of our turnkey electrification proposition. You will be working cross-functionally providing proposal management, coordination and compilation of prequalification and business registration applications and proposed deliverables. It is essential you are experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

A BIT ABOUT THE DAY TO DAY

  • Provide project management for the major steps of a grant lifecycle: Pre-Award, Award, Post-Award.
  • Implement best practices for all grant-related functions, inclusive of proposal writing and budget development
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders of grant and subsidy program availability across a myriad of states and vehicle types (such as school bus, transit, waste/refuse, etc.)
  • Enrol, manage, and navigate grant funding portals (e.g., grants.gov, state, utility online platforms)
  • Work with customers in drafting and submitting subsidy claims and grant applications
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure full understanding and compliance with grant or subsidy conditions
  • Coordinate and facilitate efforts around grant activities. This may include customer interviews or surveys, assisting with the organization of meetings (including document preparation, minutes, etc.), and assistance with the development and implementation of training materials.
  • Monitor grant programs and provide budget and grant activity reports to meet grant/funding program reporting requirements.

It is expected that the individual would remain highly flexible, as Zenob is in the initial ramp-up phase in North America and is growing rapidly. The individual would need to be able and comfortable being available to perform related tasks such as general customer relationship-building, bid preparation, assistance in structuring and contracting projects, leading minor marketing efforts, and even support of utility make ready programs.

Essential competencies:

  • Educated to Bachelors degree level, ideal
  • 3 years of demonstrated experience within grant research and writing or grants management
  • Proven written, analytical and presentation skills
  • Familiarity within government procurement/ bidding for government contracts and the grant award process
  • Ability to build key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
  • A pro-active self-starter with drive to work in a start-up/ scale-up business
  • Strong project management attributes
  • Fluency in English to business level is mandatory
  • Ability to manage complex processes, and simultaneously manage multiple projects successfully

Desirable but non-essential skills:

  • Familiarity with utility Make Ready programs is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with government procurement / bidding
  • Other work related to governmental or non-profit organizations, helpful

Indicative key funding programs (experience desired):

  • Federal funds and subsidy available under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (e.g., Highway Transit Fund / RAISE funds) and the Inflation Reduction Act
  • Environmental Protection Agencys Clean School Bus Program
  • Environmental Protection Agencys Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grant Program
  • Environmental Protection Agencys Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) Funding
  • The VW Settlement (e.g., Volkswagen Environment Mitigation Trust)
  • State-level programs such as California Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP); New York School Bus Incentive Program (NYSBIP); Texas Clean School Bus (TCSB) Program; Clean Energy Programs; and other directed grant programs, etc.
