Client is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician with commercial solar experience to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) division in MA. The Field Service Technician will report to the O&M Managers and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform commissioning, on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities
- DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing.
- Maintain the vehicle, tools, meters and truck stock
- Document and report site visits and service calls.
- Investigate and mitigate any reported roof leaks including thorough documentation
- Assist with other tasks including inspections and site audits when assigned
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience PV System installation, operations & maintenance (O&M), including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications and monitoring
- Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found
- Experience with operation of DAS systems
- Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, Meggers, Ground Fault Detection
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices
- Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Proficient working with spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-based applications
- Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight
- Valid Drivers License
- OSHA 10 HR Training
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Work is to be performed in the field and in the office.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis

Pay: $25.00 – $26.00 per hour
