Willdan is seeking an Account Manager to support our California based Public Sector energy efficiency program team. This is a remote position, Fresno/Clovis area preferred. The Public Sector energy efficiency team focuses on the implementation of California ratepayer funded energy efficiency and electrification programs in Pacific Gas and Electric Companys territory. This individual will be working with various internal and external stakeholders to lead and assist in varying energy efficiency project management activities focused on serving California local government, school districts, tribal nations, and federal agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interface with Local Government Partners, Utility Account Managers and other key stakeholders to execute relationship-based customer acquisition activities.
- Meet with interested public agencies to onboard them into the program.
- Provide direct support to participating agencies by guiding them through procurement and internal decision-making processes.
- Manage energy efficiency projects to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Collaborate with the program’s field manager, engineering team and program manager to ensure projects advance effectively while staying compliant.
- Draft project feasibility studies for custom and site based Normalized metered Energy Consumption projects (NMEC).
- Lead and/or support the completion of program related reporting requirements.
- Manage sub-consultant/contractor contracts.
- Track milestones and deliverables and provide regular status reporting to all levels of stakeholders (Executives, management, and project team members).
- Identify, develop, launch, and scale new energy efficiency and electrification program and project measures.
- Escalate issues and risks and proactively take ownership for resolution.
- Drive process and change management to achieve ROI and business value goals.
- Travel for internal and external meetings; less than 10% is anticipated.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Education or experience in public and or/business administration, engineering, environmental science/studies, economics, or related discipline that focuses on energy.
- High School degree and more than 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree and more than 3 years of related experience.
- Master’s degree and more than 1 year of related experience.
- Knowledge of applicable public agency contract and utility code as it relates to public agency procurement.
- Knowledge of eligible energy efficiency and electrification technologies as it relates to deemed, custom and NMEC workflows.
- Knowledge of the California ratepayer funded energy efficiency marketplace and varying regulations that frame implementation.
- Knowledge of Key Opinion Leadership concepts and strategies that leverage trust and credibility to drive customer acquistion.
- Experience with contract administration.
- Experience with navigating custom and NMEC project workflows.
- Experience packaging and submitting deemed projects to program administrators.
- Ability to engage with and manage internal and external stakeholders to drive program results.
- Ability to manage public sector energy efficiency projects.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Office suite of applications to document and communicate effectively.
- Ability to value stack financing, incentive and rebate dollars across funders.
- Ability to deliver results that achieve business outcomes and build lasting relationships.
- Ability to align organizational and client goals with a focus on meeting project requirements and growing business.
- Ability to work on a geographically disbursed team.
