COMPENSATION
$75-80 per hour (1,135 per day)
Travel in and out of Providence is expensed (flight, car, etc.)
SCHEDULE
4 weeks on, 4 weeks off (12 hours per day)
POSITION OVERVIEW: Offshore Client Representative – Cables
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an accurate record of daily activities, throughout the works.
- Ensure that all relevant approved procedures and risk assessments are followed by the Contractor.
- Ensure that the Contractor proactively manages safety and quality.
- Act, behave and lead by example according to client values.
- Maintain a high focus on safety throughout the works.
- Prepare and distribute Daily Progress Reports (DPR) as required
- Ensure the DPRs are signed by all required parties
- Review and understand RA/MS and QHSE documents as required before the execution phase commences and keep updated on changes in the documents
- Attend daily meetings, toolbox talks, and any other discussions to ensure that the works are being carried out in a safe manner to the required quality
- During all defined key activities and otherwise as often as practicable be present as a witness during installation. Access all work areas provided it is safe to do so
- Participate in safety walks with HSE representatives from client and Contractor organizations
- The Client Representative will conduct inspection of the offshore works in progress and monitor that works are carried out as per / in accordance with approved risk assessments and method statements / procedural documentation. The Client Representative has no contractual authority, except for the authority to intervene or stop the operation in case of safety, quality infringements or non-compliance (procedures not being followed) by the Contractor.
REQUIREMENTS
- GWO Basic Safety Training: (Sea Survival, Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling)
- BOSIET/HUET incl. CA-EBS
- OGUK Medical certificate including Chester Step Test or approved equivalent.
- IT proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet).
- High focus on quality and safety.
- Speaks, reads and writes English fluently
- Can do attitude and strong communication skills
- Ability to speak your mind while maintaining a positive atmosphere
PREFERRED
- Experience offshore on a working vessel in either the renewable sector or within oil and gas construction.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant work experience in offshore cable lay (or flexible product, EG umbilical), for example, experience in installing industry standard cable protection systems (CPS)
- Offshore cable lay and/or trenching of flexible product, (EG umbilical)
- Experience in installing and/or burial of offshore cable or flexible projects from an installation vessel.
Having been employed by an installation contractor (for example only: Canyon Offshore, deep Ocean/CTC marine, CT Offshore, DEME Group, Fugro, Global Marine Systems, Prysmian, Pharos Offshore, etc.)
CONTRACT TERM
6 months with high likelihood of extension or conversion to a full time employee
