M&A Associate / Senior Associate

**Location:** San Francisco, CA

Hybrid- 2 days in office per week or Remote for the right candidate

**Position Overview:**

A leading utility-scale IPP is seeking a motivated M&A Associate / Senior Associate to join our team. This role focuses on supporting activities aimed at new portfolio additions in utility-scale solar and storage, developing unique asset monetization strategies, and aggregating competitive intelligence.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Develop and review detailed financial models in Microsoft Excel to understand key value drivers and conduct valuation analyses.

– Assist senior team members in the acquisition and divestiture of projects.

– Gather and interpret relevant market, competitor, and transaction data.

– Maintain and develop systems to track opportunities and internal deliverables.

– Prepare materials to support interactions with management and external parties.

– Participate in calls and visits with counterparties and management.

– Contribute to the formulation of the M&A and Origination team strategy.

– Collaborate with internal and external experts in legal, finance, engineering, and development.

– Evaluate project acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships in alignment with corporate goals and provide recommendations to senior leadership.

– Support core M&A processes, including preparing process letters, letters of intent, shared models, deal documentation, data room preparation, and diligence logs.

**Qualifications:**

– Bachelor’s degree

– 1-4 years of relevant experience in renewable energy

– Strong financial modeling skills in Microsoft Excel

– Ability to source and interpret data effectively

– Excellent communication and organizational skills

– Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
