Overview
The Electrician position is a critical member of a solar installation team and is responsible for working in partnership with the Solar Installers to complete residential solar installation projects. As Valoa continues to uphold a reputation for excellence, this position is best suited for someone passionate about work quality, field safety and prefers working on a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installing and maintaining the electrical equipment and wiring that connects the PV system to the electrical grid
  • Installation of PV mounting systems and PV modules when necessary
  • Ensure that all work performed complies with 2020 NEC code and workmanship
  • Must be knowledgeable and comply with OSHA safety standards for the installation team
  • Troubleshooting system problems and resolving electrical issues
  • Train, mentor and develop apprentices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRES a valid Journeyman Electricians License to be considered for the position
  • Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Experience installing photovoltaic systems preferred
  • Experience with data communications and monitoring systems is preferred
  • Experience with grid-tied and off-grid battery and/or generator backup systems is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Working knowledge and ability to interpret and apply 2020 NEC requirements to PV systems
  • Experience reading and interpreting one-line drawings and electrical schematics
  • Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential and commercial electrical services and distribution panels
  • Must be able to work with high voltage systems 600Vdc to 1500Vdc
  • Must be able to work with services 240Vac, 208Vac, and 480Vac in single and three phase systems (and other variations)
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 – $96,000.00 per year
