Description:
We are looking to build our sales presence in the United States with a sales representative with strong agriculture background. We are based in Northern California, have a significant presence in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska on hundreds of farms, and now are ready to expand our business we build a next generation AgTech company. The ideal candidates will have proven track records of success in sales in the agriculture industry, specifically crops or livestock and, preferably, as agronomic or nutritional consultants within those sectors. You have a great relationship with your farm customers, knowing them well and having worked side by side in agronomy, nutrition, product sales, supply sales or automation. We are a fast-paced startup, growing rapidly, run by a small but highly efficient team, that is focused on revitalizing nutrients in food, our precious soil, and reducing water and input usage.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry partners; your ability to negotiate and sustain significant partnerships will be critical to our long-term growth
- Work with product and marketing teams to share field sales learnings to fine-tune our messaging, sales assets, pricing and packaging
- Work with established systems for onboarding, customer monitoring, data collection, and success focus
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine sales strategies, ensuring approaches are aligned with market demands and opportunities for innovation
- Identify and develop new distributor and customer relationships in the United States
- Provide in-field, consultative support for customers to ensure successful experience with UpTerra systems.
Qualifications:
- Robust network of growers and/or potential distributors throughout whichever region in the United States you are located
- 5 years or more experience as a sales agronomist or technical agronomic consultant
- Experience with cutting edge crop input technologies that enhance fertilizer or water use efficiency i.e. biologicals and bio-stimulants
- Crop Advisor Certification encouraged but not required
- Must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) as you will be working in a team environment that is very data driven.
- Entrepreneurial mindset.
- Computer skills are required including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, CRM systems, and G-suite)
