Job Summary

This position develops budgetary projections, budgets and prepares financial reports. Provides budgetary guidance to directors and managers. Reviews expenditures to ensure conformance with budgetary guidelines.
Specific job responsibilities include:
  • Develops and monitors budgets and short and long-term budgetary projections
  • Analyzes, identifies, and makes recommendations for cost savings and funding options in alignment with working unit strategic initiatives and unit objectives
  • Conducts program and budget research, analyzes data, and prepares complex financial reports in accordance with established procedures and regulations
  • Assists in the development of operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives
  • Serves as a point of contact for staff providing budgetary information and guidance, answering questions, and responding to inquiries
Hybrid work options may be available. Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Milwaukee campus, with requests for remote work considered after the initial training period. Specifics regarding work location requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in any field by date of hire
  • Experience working with productivity software such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word and Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting or related discipline by date of hire
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, forecasting, accounting
  • Knowledge of or experience with financial, budget, or program analysis
  • Working knowledge of Excel, formulas, and ability to manage data
  • Experience working in higher education

Target Salary Range $50,000 – $85,000 (Final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience.) Benefits and Total Rewards
