The FoodWIse Nutrition Educator position will serve Manitowoc, Door, and Kewaunee Counties. This role is housed in the Health & Well-Being Institute (https://extension.wisc.edu/health/) within UW-Madison’s Division of Extension (https://extension.wisc.edu/). The Health & Well-Being Institute works to catalyze positive change in Wisconsin residents through evidence-based and community-engaged health promotion programs to improve health, build community capacity to identify and address health inequities, engage in collective action, and achieve greater health equity.
The FoodWIse program (https://healthyliving.extension.wisc.edu/programs/foodwise/) advances healthy eating habits, active lifestyles, and healthy community environments for families with limited incomes through nutrition education at the individual, community, and systems levels. FoodWIse is federally funded by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP) grants.
The Nutrition Educator is a member of the Manitowoc/Door/Kewaunee Counties FoodWIse team. Nutrition Educators are peer educators who co-learn with community members and adapt teaching to honor cultures and experiences. This position has a bilingual preferred qualification, which means a bilingual skillset is desired to bolster programming initiatives but is not required. Salary will be prorated by FTE. For this 50% position, the minimum annual salary will be $22,051.

This position has a bilingual preferred qualification. Upon the successful completion of a Language Proficiency Assessment, a ‘bilingual’ prefix will be added to the official title. The bilingual prefix is accompanied by a $3500.00 pay increase applied to the annual salary.
