Position Description
The Battery Engineer role in UNIGRID is designed for someone with a passion for pioneering new technologies and chemistries in the battery technologies. We are searching for an individual with strong initiative, who thrives on innovation and has a knack for problem solving and providing solutions independently. You’ll analyze and present results and data, sharing insights needed to advance our projects and achieve key milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory tasks and carry out synthesis and battery fabrication, both independently and under supervision while training.
- Laboratory tasks include the use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of (including, but not limited to): gloveboxes, hydraulic presses, battery cyclers, furnaces, tube furnaces, coaters, casters, impedance analyzers, potentiostats, load cells, as well as the associated hardware and software.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and be able to keep detailed, organized records for all data and tests involved.
- Adhere to all safety practices, lab best practices, and all company policies including procedures for waste handling.
- Coordinate with other technical staff to advance company projects and milestones.
Key Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Materials Science/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering or equivalent. Masters preferred.
- Proficiency with CAD software for designing battery components and assemblies is a plus.
- Ability to interpret lab results, gain insights, and communicate effectively with a team.
- Strongly preferred: lab experience, electrochemistry, and solid-state battery knowledge
