Job Description

This recruitment is for two (2) Electronics Specialist positions. By applying, you will be considered for both positions: 20060609, 20061583 This position provides advanced analysis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair for medium voltage switchgear (4160 volts), electro-mechanical and solid-state motor starters, variable frequency drives, power electronics, distributed control systems, and instrumentation for all areas of the chilled water system. The control systems and associated instruments operate 5 large-scale chilled water plants, including a sophisticated thermal energy storage system, and ongoing upgrading of existing controls and power electronics. The plants must operate continuously.

Multiple priorities, changing conditions of weather, manpower, equipment availability, unexpected emergencies, cascading failures, short periods of time to analyze and take action. Equipment availability affects scheduled maintenance and retrofit projects for instrumentation. Daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities must adjust to weather induced changes in operation. Instrument failures occur without advance warning. Normal maintenance of instruments must be carried out in parallel with system expansion and retrofit projects. New types of cooling technology and operating procedures require on-going changes to the instrumentation. New proprietary vendor equipment and upgrades to existing equipment require learning new procedures and techniques to install and maintain control systems.
