Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on solar energy systems, including solar panels, inverters, and balance of system components. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of solar installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on solar energy systems, including cleaning, inspection, and testing of solar panels, inverters, and other components.
Identify and address potential issues or concerns to prevent system downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults, failures, and performance issues using diagnostic tools, equipment, and software.
Analyze system data and performance metrics to identify root causes of problems and implement corrective actions as needed.
Repair and Replacement:
Repair or replace defective or damaged components of solar energy systems, including inverters, wiring, connectors, and mounting hardware.
Ensure that all repairs and replacements are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
System Testing and Commissioning:
Conduct functional tests and commissioning procedures on newly installed or repaired solar energy systems to verify proper operation and performance.
Document test results, observations, and recommendations for follow-up actions or improvements.
Customer Service and Support:
Provide excellent customer service and support to solar system owners, responding promptly to service requests and addressing inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Communicate effectively with customers to explain maintenance procedures, troubleshooting steps, and repair options.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy fields preferred.
4 years of experience in solar installation, maintenance, or field service, with a strong understanding of solar energy systems and components.
Electrical license or certification preferred; experience working with AC and DC electrical systems required.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve technical issues.
