Job Title: Rework Operator
(Soldering)


Department: Production

Location: Wilmer, Texas

Rework Operator Overview:

The Rework Operator is responsible for driving and executing the day-to-day rework of modules while ensuring that quality and safety standards are met. The Rework Operator will use specialized equipment to solder components together, making precise welds to connect wire to wire and wire to soldering pad. Rework Operators are responsible for ensuring that the soldering process is carried out correctly and that the finished product meets all Trina Solar quality standards. They may also be responsible for training other workers in the rework process, setting up and maintaining soldering equipment, and keeping records of all repair activities.


Rework Operator Responsibilities:

  • Proven track record with a “can do” attitude and reliability
  • Perform 5S in their respective areas
  • Communicate production information to oncoming shift
  • Perform all duties in a safe, reliable and efficient manner
  • Maintain soldering and workstation equipment
  • Perform repairs of cell strings and modules
  • Use test equipment to verify temperatures of workstation and soldering iron
  • Verifies quality of soldering using imaging and electrical testing
  • Assemble circuits requiring fine hand assembly
  • Verify cell grade, manufacturer, color series by correctly reading label

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, manuals and instructions
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • One year or more of soldering experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequently remains stationary up to 75% of the time
  • Frequently bend, stand, stoop and/or walk
  • Occasionally (Team Lift) carry weight and/or lift objects (light to moderate) weighing up to 20lbs.
  • Frequently communicates with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with employees, coworkers, and all personnel matters; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, testing equipment, office documents.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends on stairway to get to work area
