Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure projects advance on the appropriate schedules and within allocated budgets to support origination, financing, and construction, to ultimately fulfill the company’s distributed energy resource management strategy. The Senior Manager will help develop strategy and deployment of demand response and distributed energy resource programs.

Senior Manager Distributed Energy Resource Management
Hiring Salary Range: $141,000-$205,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, direct, and develop staff.
- Guide development strategy for distributed energy resources.
- Build and manage a team of internal and external project managers to support distributed energy resource development efforts from feasibility to commissioning to on-going operations.
- Ensure projects are progressing on schedule and within budget.
- Select, manage, and direct third party consultants and manage their progress.
- Develop, review and manage project pro forma financial models.
- Evaluate viability of early-stage projects.
- Represent company in industry advocacy groups.
- Remain abreast of distributed energy opportunities and the industry trends impacting the future opportunities and their competitiveness.
- Maintain CRM/documentation/data rooms and reporting of project pipeline.
- Develop and manage implementation strategy for demand response initiatives, programs, and stakeholder outreach.
- Work with internal stakeholders on branding, publicity, and opportunities for influencing demand response.
- Evaluate and recommend opportunities for load growth.
- Identify barriers to adoption and work with both internal and external stakeholders to address these and develop effective solutions.
- Participate in consumer organizations, committees, and other energy groups to share information and provide opportunities to be effective and responsive to community needs.
- Study and evaluate demand response opportunities, economic environments, and sustainability requirements, develop strategic initiatives to deploy these opportunities.
- Stay current with industry trends and innovations. Researches and develops potential new demand response programs.
- Manage demand response programs to increase resource optimization. Ensure appropriate system configuration and adequate system maintenance to maintain effective operations.
- To provide Energy Markets with accurate, reliable load data for scheduling power and controlling load through demand response and distributed energy resource installations.
- Provide member cooperatives with tools to employ reliable demand response control.
- Provide for integration of systems supporting field operations and technical capability as required by all members. Develop and implements routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance practices.
- Develop recommendations concerning long-range energy/load management strategies and programs. Monitor and takes corrective action to bring plan into compliance as required.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of regulations, laws, standards, and best practices applicable to functional area.
- Business Continuity/Crisis Management: Directs the development, implementation and continuous improvement of an enterprise business continuity/crisis management function that identifies the process for establishing authorities, responsibilities, rules and guidelines that ensures business continuity and 100% compliance.
- Provides direction and actively participates on Crisis Management Team. Ensures identified issues and concerns are addressed.
- Ensures the annual review and revision of all programs, procedures and plan documents related to business continuity and crisis management.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, county and local laws and regulations related to business continuity standards and guidelines.
- Ensures that appropriate relationships are established with agencies, law enforcement, first responders, etc.

- Ensures that team and individual employee execution is evaluated against established goals and objectives for all accountabilities. Ensures that delegated functions effectively forecast work and resource needs, including human, capital and physical resources, and recommends annual budgets to meet goals and objectives aligned to support enterprise strategies, goals and objectives. Actively monitors performance against budget, identifies variances, and backcasts against forecasts to identify and learn from error.

Qualifications:
Education and Training:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Economics preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Prior experience in any or all of: demand response platforms, SCADA systems, communications networks, information technology operations highly desirable.
- Proven record of accomplishment in distributed energy resource development, including experience taking projects through financing.
- Experience with energy storage projects preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks.
- Working knowledge of technical development disciplines, including interconnection, resource assessment, finance, etc.
- General understanding of market trends and resulting impacts on project development.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences.
- Results-oriented leader with the ability to work independently while effectively interfacing with the various cross-functional employee groups.
