Job Summary:

This role will have a matrix reporting structure to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and the Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategy to support Mergers & Acquisition efforts and will also collaborate with the entire C-Suite Leadership Team. The primary responsibility is to forge strong business partnerships and provide reporting and value-added financial analysis to drive profitable growth and deliver financial targets.

This highly visible and impactful role will prepare the successful candidate to have upward career opportunities within TransTech Finance and Accounting as well as the ability to pursue opportunities at TransTech in manufacturing, procurement, and general management organizations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Support for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • In partnership with business unit and division Controllers, develop financial forecasts and annual budgets for each business unit, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.
  • Develop a robust monthly forecast process, including the implementation of driver-based forecasting tools within Financial Reporting and Consolidation software.
  • Standardize, improve, and automate the annual budgeting process in new software.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support proactive decision making.
  • Analyze and bridge actual results verses forecast and budget to enhance understanding of business performance and help ensure accuracy of month-end close as part of internal controls.
  • Measure and drive improvements to forecast accuracy.
  • Provide analysis for special projects to drive financial and/or process improvements.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analyses and reports to drive stronger business decisions and margin improvement.
  • Actively seek to improve and automate systems that support financial analysis and reporting, including installation of Financial Reporting / Consolidation / Forecasting / Budgeting software, expansion of PowerBI capabilities, and ERP implementations and improvements.
  • Prepare quarterly and monthly reports as required.

Support for Mergers & Acquisition (M&A):

  • Participate in Mergers & Acquisition due diligence activities to assess strategic fit. Create analyses, presentations, and investment memos to help the leadership team make solid investment decisions.
  • Participate in the deal process including financing, modeling, transaction execution, and integration to drive inorganic growth.
  • Proactively research and monitor companies to identify, develop and maintain an active funnel of potential acquisition targets.
  • Ad-hoc projects and analysis / other duties as assigned.
  • Travel requirements 10-20% annually (could be higher during certain parts of a transaction or integration).

Competencies:

  • Three or more years of analysis/accounting experience in a manufacturing, construction, or field services environment.
  • Progressive experience in a commercial FP&A role preferred.
  • Pricing experience and understanding of product and project costing preferred.
  • Strong experience developing forecasts and budgeting models.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and planning software such as OneStream or Hyperion.
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence systems, Power BI experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems is desirable.
  • Possess the highest level of integrity and ethics.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or alternate major with minor in accounting or finance and relevant financial work experience).

Travel:

  • 10-20% travel to other Company locations may be required. (Could increase during certain parts of a transaction or integration).
