General Role Description

Build a pipeline of business for integrated solutions within the photovoltaic, battery energy storage, and repower markets.

Role Accountabilities

  • Position the Company as the primary choice of solution provider for new interconnect application filings by identifying and building and sustaining influential relationships within a network of developers, independent engineers, and owners engineers, in collaboration with Chief Specialists
  • Provide technical guidance during feasibility and system impact studies, in collaboration with Chief Specialists
  • Position the role as the clients’ conduit and filter for new and enhanced products and services by proactively ascertaining their needs, desires, and expectations
  • Identify and recommend competitive, new and enhanced products and services by monitoring and assessing markets, industry trends, competitive environment; at existing and potential clients; and existing and potential differentiation of Company offerings
  • Vet potential new and enhanced products and services with business development, technology, other company technical experts
  • Create technical, marketing, and commercial material and provide education on new and enhanced products and services
  • Define solutions that include hardware and software requirements for a project, in collaboration with clients and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Effectively communicate these requirements to the clients and internal engineering team
  • Provide product and system feedback and service opportunities for improvement to appropriate management
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at technical conferences, internal meetings, and client meetings as necessary or assigned
  • Review brochures for technical accuracy
  • Develop pricing strategies to maximize project margins
  • Design competitive and viable technical approaches to resolve client issues
  • Lead technical and commercial proposal development for small projects with limited supervision
  • Provide technical guidance in the preparation, review, and final commercial proposal generation to client
  • Prepare commercial proposals and technical specifications to meet clients Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements
  • Evaluate supplier proposals to determine the best technical and most economical solution for the application
  • Prepare detailed cost elements for the technical specification

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent via education and/or work experience
  • 5 years demonstrated expertise in application of utility-scale PV inverters, battery energy storage systems, power conversion, power generation/transmission/distribution, or automation systems
  • Demonstrated experience with power system study requirements, utility and ISO/RTO processes, and familiarity with power flow models including PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, and ASPEN
  • Demonstrated success identifying product gaps, emerging technologies, new market opportunities that support business growth
  • Demonstrated success differentiating TMEIC technical advantage from competitor products and services internally and externally
  • Strong visual graphics capabilities to ensure publications are both attractive and informative
  • Demonstrated success collaborating cross-functionally
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Availability to travel domestically, approximately 30%, and internationally, occasionally, with limited notice

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7 years demonstrated expertise in application of utility-scale PV inverters, battery energy storage systems, power conversion, power generation/transmission/distribution, or automation systems
  • 5 years’ experience in power systems analysis/modeling
  • Successful existing relationships with decision makers at Companys current and potential client organizations, specifically utilities, independent power producers, and/or EPCs
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills
  • Demonstrated product management experience
  • Demonstrated successful presentations at user conferences, trade shows, and similar events
