Energy Storage Real Estate Land Operations Manager

Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)

This an opportunity to join an industry leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development/execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 9GW of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase.

They are looking for a Real Estate Manager that will help drive the land operations optimization process. The incumbent will be joining an expanding Energy Storage Project Development Team and work with Department Leaders on strategic real estate initiatives (administration, land development sourcing, land acquisition, due diligence, and execution) across the nationwide portfolio.

The Real Estate Development Manager role will take ownership of the real estate land operations and document controls aspects of the utility-scale renewables portfolio. This includes the development and implementation of processes to track/manage the financial obligations tied to real estate assets including the optimization of software/tools to ensure project development milestones are being met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Renewables Real Estate Land Operations Manager – Leads the optimization of the real estate land documentation process with a focus on monitoring key financial obligations of across development assets in the battery storage portfolio
  • The Renewables Real Estate Land Operations Manager – Acts as a key stakeholder in the real estate acquisition process through support of land owner relations to drive due diligence efforts
  • The Renewables Real Estate Land Operations Manager – Collaborates cross-functionally and externally to aggregate the real estate teams site control documentation needs in order to optimize the title/survey documentation process
  • The Renewables Real Estate Land Operations Manager – Takes ownership of the real estate database management process for the entire renewable energy portfolio including milestone management, budgeting, and general reporting (property..taxes…financial commitments)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MUST have experience developing and managing real estate site control and documentation processes
  • Project Management mindset when it comes to monitoring real estate project deadlines, obligations, and milestones
  • Expertise in renewable energy land administration protocols and development of proprietary data management systems
  • Extensive experience organizing and overseeing internal data management resources and software
  • Ability to understand legal and commercial obligations within real estate documents
  • Strong background in land negotiations and supporting the close of large commercial real estate transactions
  • Understanding of ALTA surveys, title reports, and mineral right evaluations as part of the de-risking process
  • Understanding of leases, purchase options, land permitting, purchase agreements, & site control administration initiatives
  • Working knowledge of the utility-scale renewables (solar PV, Energy storage / battery storage, & Wind) origination and development process at various stages (interconnection, permitting, PPA negotiations, tax equity, preconstruction…etc) of the project lifecycle PREFERRED
  • Ability to participate in advance level discussions in the utility-scale renewables, transmission, and battery storage space
