Renewable Energy Fund Program Specialist

Full-Time: 37.5 Hours

Salary Rate Effective 7/12/2024

$28.74/hour – $38.85/hour

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Energy, Policy and Programs Division has a full-time vacancy for 13-1190 Misc Bus Ops Specs-5.

Summary:

Researches, investigates and analyzes energy matters, and provides preliminary recommendations on the design of sustainable energy incentive programs. Administers Renewable Energy Fund grant and rebate program(s).

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate’s degree

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor’s degree

Other information: This position offers a Trainee Status* at the following pay rate: $27.55 per hour

  • Candidates hired at a Trainee Status must meet minimum qualifications within one (1) year of hire date

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major study in the field of business, mathematics, finance, economics, public policy, social sciences or engineering. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Three years of experience in the analysis, regulation or management of public or private corporations or the operational phases of public utilities, or program management. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: None required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates with sustainable energy experience.

Responsibilities:

Reviews, approves, and monitors the applications and budgets for participation in the renewable energy.

Interacts with rebate and grant applicants and other interested parties to provide information on the funding status and the application process of the renewable energy rebate and grant programs.

Assists in the development, design and implementation of renewable energy grant and rebate programs, developing application forms and internal procedures for processing, verifying and approving applications.

Assists in the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Reviews and analyzes RFP responses. Assists in the negotiation and drafting of contract agreements.

Performs detailed and involved duties in researching and analyzing data, material, and documents regarding sustainable energy and public utility policies and methods.

Maintains important contact with representatives from industry, stakeholders, public utility companies; and with consumers, state and federal officials and special interest groups to remain abreast of current industry developments and trends concerning renewable energy policy, market and technology developments at the state, regional and federal levels.

Prepares reports, articles, presentations, fact sheets, FAQs and other materials as needed.
