Job Title: (Senior) Project Development Manager

Location: Remote, US

Travel: up to 65%

About the Company:

Our client is a pioneering leader in the development of utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage systems in the United States.

About the Role:

The Project Development Manager will oversee the development of wind, battery energy storage & solar projects from identification through to construction and financial closing. This role involves managing teams, coordinating consultants, and handling permitting, land rights, and stakeholder relationships, with a focus on ERCOT, SPP, and MISO markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transition of projects from development to construction.
  • Manage 3rd party consultants for land, environmental, permitting, and legal activities.
  • Oversee local, state, and federal permitting for wind, BESS & solar farms.
  • Secure land surface rights for project development.
  • Participate in power purchase agreement negotiations and proposal submissions.
  • Identify and assess potential projects for acquisition.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including government officials and utilities.
  • Monitor Generation Interconnection studies and participate in agreement negotiations.
  • Manage project budgets and provide regular updates to management.
  • Supervise and train development staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 4+ years of project management experience in renewable energy, including development through to financial closing.
