Job Description

Title: Manager, Interconnection & Transmission

Reports to: VP of Development, Utility-Scale

Summary:

This critical role will shape our utility-scale strategy through an interconnection lens and manage the interconnection process for our rapidly growing portfolio. Additionally, the Interconnection Manager will directly support the opening of new markets, site origination and early-stage development. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of a new floating market segment for solar, deliver win-wins for the communities that host our projects, and experience significant growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Inform and develop our utility-scale strategy and new market entry by providing expertise on interconnection processes and requirements
  • Directly support project-level origination and early-stage development in new target markets through the evaluation of project sites for interconnection location, feasibility and strategy
  • Lead external interconnection studies to inform strategy and develop internal views of projects
  • Manage the interconnection process for a rapidly expanding portfolio of utility-scale floating solar projects, from initial application to completion.
  • Liaise and negotiate with utilities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to secure necessary approvals and permits.
  • Coordinate with consultants, project developers, engineers, procurement and construction teams to integrate interconnection requirements into project planning
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in interconnection policies, procedures, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry – preferably solar and BESS – with a focus on interconnection, transmission and development.
  • In-depth knowledge of interconnection standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar energy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, project management software).
