Chemours is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our growing team! This position will report directly to the EHS Senior Consultant at our Louisville, KY location.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • With guidance from the EHS Senior Consultant and Safety & Security Lead, provide support in the following: Clean Water Act NPDES associated programs, Clean Air Act related programs, RCRA regulated waste, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Hazmat.
  • Assist with the following EHS functions: training, preparing reports, field work, inspections, and conducting internal audits.
  • Coordinate and provide assistance with venders/contractors pertaining to environmental and safety functions.
  • Participate in 2nd and 3rd party audits or other interactions with federal and state environmental agencies and respond to requests or notifications from environmental agencies.
  • Lead and/or participate in investigation of environmental and safety incidents and implement system improvements to reduce potential for future events.

The Following Is Required For This Role

  • Associates in a science discipline preferably in chemical or environmental engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in an environmental capacity preferred

The Following Is Preferred For This Role

  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in an environmental competency such as air, hazardous waste, or water regulatory compliance, including associated permitting.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex regulations and to work with the site to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations, technical and maintenance personnel and to positively interact with other EHS professionals and the business to maximize results.
  • Ability to take initiative, self-manage, identify what is needed and take effective action to bring about change and lead/implement change while maintaining Chemours’ core values.
  • Detail oriented and the ability to help develop solutions.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and SAP plus the ability to quickly adapt to new technology.

$81,715.00 – $127,680.00

Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
