AES Clean Energy (AES CE) is seeking a skilled and motivated Digital Business Relationship Manager, Commercial to join our growing organization. In this critical role, you will lead the digital transformation of our commercial operations, developing and implementing innovative digital solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and provide enhanced visibility across our commercial functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset and a strong ability to integrate advanced technologies like AI into our systems and processes, ensuring alignment with the broader business strategy.

The Digital Business Relationship Manager, Commercial will be part of the Business Relationship team that connects our functional and digital teams in enabling the technology that meets our organization’s needs. This position will preferably be based in the Houston, Texas, Dayton, Ohio, Louisville, Colorado office or alternate location Salt Lake City, Utah.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Transformation Leadership: Lead the digital transformation of commercial operations, including origination, trading, and market operations, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation. Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for integrating digital technologies into commercial systems and processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between Commercial teams and Digital departments to ensure seamless execution of digital initiatives. Ensure digital solutions are aligned with the company’s overall business strategy and support long-term growth.
  • System Implementation and Management: Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of digital commercial solutions, including Salesforce, customer portals, and BI tools. Ensure these systems are fully integrated and optimized to support operational goals.
  • Process Management and Training: Develop, map, and maintain comprehensive process documentation for all commercial digital initiatives based on business processes, ensuring that workflows, systems, and procedures are clearly defined, standardized, and continuously updated to reflect improvements and changes in business operations. Provide training and support to commercial teams on new systems, tools, and processes.
  • Process Integration and Optimization: Integrate advanced technologies, such as AI, into commercial systems and processes to drive automation, predictive analytics, and other improvements. Continuously analyze and improve commercial processes through digitalization, aiming for increased efficiency, reduced costs, and enhanced transparency.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and measure the impact of digital initiatives, using data to continuously optimize solutions. Utilize data analytics to gain insights into commercial operations. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable intelligence to stakeholders.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage vendor relationships and ensure that external digital solutions are integrated effectively, this includes software vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders. Negotiate contracts, manage Service Level Agreements, and ensure that Commercial initiatives align with stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Innovation and Research: Keep abreast of the latest digital trends and technologies to drive innovation within the organization. Evaluate and recommend new technologies that can provide competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field. A MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial management, with at least 3 years in a role focused on digital transformation or systems implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial technologies, including Salesforce.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data analytics for decision making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and industry standards.
  • Experience in vendor management, including negotiation and performance assessment.
