Teslas Energy Engineering group seeks a highly motivated individual to program manage both existing and new design engineering initiatives for the Solar program. This cross-functional role requires coordination among various groups within and outside of Tesla. You will interface with design engineering, manufacturing engineering and operations, supply chain, compliance, reliability, and field operations to drive the development of new product programs and manage changes to existing programs.
As part of the design engineering team, you will be deeply involved in the design and manufacturing engineering processes, shepherding projects from concept through prototype validation to production ramp. Your engineering background will be crucial in understanding product and manufacturing requirements, assessing technical risks, and developing validation strategies to accelerate development and manufacturing processes. You will communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risks, and develop recovery plans for any project delays.
As an Engineering Program Manager, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy on your programs while contributing to the development of tools and processes that enhance organizational productivity.
You will be based in the Bay Area (Fremont) with some travel to our manufacturing facilities in California or Nevada as needed.
