An established company is currently seeking a proficient Solar & Storage Engineer to join their team, specializing in Solar and Storage. Working under the guidance of the Manager of Solar and Storage, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the performance and reliability of the company’s renewable energy assets. As a valued member of the team, your responsibilities will include developing and implementing maintenance programs, providing technical expertise to operational projects, and leading initiatives to drive cost efficiencies. Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to enhance productivity, reliability, and performance of solar and storage plants.
- Provide technical guidance and support for the turnover and commissioning of newly constructed plants.
- Contribute to the development of annual operating budgets for solar and storage projects.
- Analyze equipment health data and assess failure rates and expected lifetimes of components.
- Conduct root cause analysis independently or validate contractor analysis.
- Develop models for operational costs and prepare business cases for plant improvements and retrofits.
- Review maintenance records and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Manage projects and contractors related to engineering system enhancements.
Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a preference for Electrical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of relevant technical experience, with a focus on solar and storage power generation.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems design and operation.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of electrical power systems, particularly inverters.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
