Our client, a key player in the clean energy sector, is looking for a Senior Development Engineer with a focus on commercial and industrial solar and energy storage projects. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist in developing C&I solar, energy storage projects
  • Conduct site assessments to gather critical data for project planning.
  • Create detailed project plans based on site conditions and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Design solar and battery systems, including equipment selection and layout configuration.
  • Develop electrical diagrams and drawing sets for project approval and construction.
  • Analyze utility tariffs and provide financial projections for project feasibility.
  • Review project constraints and ensure constructability during the planning phase.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to enhance project outcomes.
  • Support the construction team by applying best practices and lessons learned.
  • Provide detailed cost estimates to assist in project budgeting.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on project progress and industry developments.

Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in PV system design and engineering.
  • Proven experience in designing grid-connected PV systems, with a minimum of 1MW of development or design experience across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Helioscope, and PVSyst
  • Experience with Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC code, and the constructability of these systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and financial reports.
  • Capable of writing and delivering reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments, and to negotiate and prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
