Head of Origination (WECC & CAISO)

Become an integral part of the solar industry’s forefront by stepping into the role of Head of Origination at a leading company. This key position entails leading power marketing campaigns, initiating power purchase agreements, and devising strategic blueprints for project advancement, thus molding the company’s trajectory within the U.S. energy sector.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

• Identify and develop new market opportunities.
• Analyze and respond to regulatory and policy changes affecting solar and battery storage sectors.
• Create and execute marketing strategies for power sales.
• Conduct market research to identify opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, including utilities and energy off-takers.
• Align PPA strategies with market trends for PV and BESS projects.
• Lead negotiation and structuring of power purchase agreements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and financial objectives through collaboration with legal and financial teams.
• Establish and implement strategic frameworks for U.S. project developments.
• Ensure projects align with company goals and market needs through cross-functional collaboration.

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry.
• Demonstrated experience in power marketing and PPA originations within the energy sector.
• In-depth knowledge of the U.S. energy market and regulatory landscape.
• Strong skills in negotiation, strategic thinking, and leadership.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
