ROLE SUMMARY
The Legal Counsel will provide legal services and guidance to support the success of SunGrid business. This position reports to the General Counsel or another management personnel that the Company may designate. This position sits in Company offices located in Houston TX, with hybrid schedule available. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, though flexibility in hours can be accommodated. Additional working hours may be required as needed. This position is expected to travel less than 10% of allotted time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively implement the legal group remit and support the members of the legal team
- Negotiate and draft prime and ancillary contracts for EPC project delivery
- Support the management and resolution of disputed matters
- Act as SME for non-core project delivery requirements (e.g., ITC, tax exemptions, compliance)
- Assist colleagues throughout company with legal related needs
- Support Finance team activities regarding Insurance, Surety and Corporate matters
- Interpret contract terms and conditions and advise staff on contract compliance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctorate from accredited school, plus five years experience in the legal field.
- Contract negotiation, administration or management experience is required.
- Experience with construction, service industry, or engineering services is a plus.
- Must be able to work with limited oversight and within teams of various sizes and abilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
