Job Description

Summary:

The Solar Electrical Manager of Special Projects will act as the supervisory point of contact for power plant maintenance operations and repairs, to include but not limited to DC and AC components utilized in PV power generation. This individual serves as manager to a specialized team that will travel from site to site addressing PV performance issues and as an advisor to the Regional Supervisors in their assigned areas. The PPM Manager of Special Projects reports directly to the Director of Power Plant Maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all subordinate staff and subcontractors demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and Strata Solar Clean Energy O&M safety policies and procedures in the performance of plant maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for managing projects from inception through project closeout in conjunction with Regional Supervisors and field teams.
  • Analyze fleet sites performance and prioritize order of operation.
  • Dispatch assigned team to various sites required performance improvement.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (safety, engineering, quality, supply chain, construction, etc.).
  • Responsible for cost and scheduling goals and project schedule including development, metrics, maintenance of the schedule.
  • Confirm compliance with warranty and O&M contract obligations.
  • Perform analysis of inspection and testing data provided by field personnel.
  • Ensure all company procured materials are ordered and delivered to site in the required timeline.
  • Ensure completion and submission of all inspection and testing data provided by assigned field personnel.
  • Participate in system design reviews, scope of work reviews.
  • Develop new initiatives that will enhance department and organization capabilities and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of staffing plans for plant maintenance operations.
  • Assist in the training and professional development of employees.
  • Assist with or lead interdepartmental maintenance operations as needed to support Power Plant Maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Special Project Field Supervisor reports directly to the PPM Manager of Special Projects

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum three (4) years experience working with PV power generation systems in a capacity that may include design, installation, operation, maintenance, or any combination thereof.
  • Minimum one (3) year experience as functional lead/supervisor of plant maintenance operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PV power generating system fundamentals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all testing equipment, tools and procedures utilized in the maintenance of PV power generation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate with subordinate plant maintenance technicians, interdepartmental technicians and other personnel, vendors, and subcontractors in the performance of scheduled and unscheduled plant maintenance activities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications to include but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, and SharePoint, as well as various industry-related software platforms to include but not limited to CMMS,

Flir Tools, and PV Analyzer.

  • Experience making and/or recommending business decisions that are safe, financially responsible, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be able to travel occasionally to remote project sites.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a shift.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend.
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.
  • 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Ability to wear full complement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 70 % of the time, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends
