💰 Salary: $160,000-$210,000 + Bonus & Equity

This is an amazing opportunity for a Senior ML Engineer to help improve the reliability, transparency, and efficiency of our energy systems. You will use ML and optimization methods to build the financial rails of our future energy systems that will accelerate the deployment of clean energy resources. You will be primary responsible for developing energy pricing models to help facilitate the deployment of in-market leading power contract origination strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model Design and Deployment: Collaborate with Quantitative Researchers to design and implement machine learning models and optimization algorithms for wholesale power markets.
• Scalability: Ensure models can scale to new markets and handle greater volumes.
• Data Infrastructure Development: Develop and enhance our data infrastructure and research platform to provide streamlined access to data sources and powerful computing resources.
• Operational Translation: Ensure that research and models translate effectively into real-world applications.
• Platform and Framework Design: Take ownership of the design and implementation of our platform and framework.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and lead software engineers, ML engineers, and data scientists.
• Technology Choices: Make key decisions regarding technology and tools used within the team.
• Cultural Impact: Help shape the team culture and establish best practices.

Qualifications:

• Extensive Experience: You have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience and 3+ years of experience developing production machine learning or predictive modeling systems in an industry setting.
• Power Markets Expertise: Extensive experience and working knowledge of US energy markets, across several ISOs (ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, PJM Etc)
• Leadership Skills: You have experience leading and mentoring software engineers, ML engineers, or data scientists.
• Machine Learning Expertise: You possess a solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and can interpret research results to understand operational requirements and assumptions.
• Advanced Modeling: You have experience with probabilistic forecasting models for multivariate time series and other structured data. Experience with graph and/or spatial data problems is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: You are experienced and comfortable with the workflow for researching and developing machine learning models and data mining algorithms, and working with distributed computing resources.
• Technical Stack: While we prioritize strong foundational skills over specific technical knowledge, experience with any part of our data stack (Python, SQL, PyTorch, CatBoost) is a plus.
