⚡ We are currently partnered with an exciting battery company seeking an experienced Controls Design Engineer to join their engineering team. You will play a crucial role in designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for large-scale energy storage projects. Join a pioneering company in the green technology space, known for driving innovation in sustainable energy solutions. This position will work closely with clients to define project requirements and oversee system installations, helping to deliver advanced energy storage solutions that support a low-carbon future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and commission control systems for grid-scale energy storage projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and create detailed project specifications.
  • Develop communication datapoint lists for customer interfaces and SCADA systems.
  • Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and perform On-Site Acceptance Testing (OSAT).
  • Review and assist in the design of electrical and control system drawings and equipment lists.
  • Program PLC and RTAC controllers using IEC 61131 standards (ST, FBD, LD).
  • Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and AC/DC inverter systems, coordinating solutions with engineering teams.
  • Standardize logic modules and data structures to enhance coding efficiency.
  • Travel up to 20% for on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and project support.
  • Ensure high-quality and safety standards during all stages of the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in controls, electrical, or software engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in PLC design and programming.
  • Experience in designing analog and digital PLC I/O circuits.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus/TCP and DNP3 is a plus.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • CAD drafting experience, preferably with SOLIDWORKS.
  • Experience with electrical power systems, inverters, or battery energy storage is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
