Summary/Job Scope:

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships within the coal combustion residuals (CCR) industry in support of VCNA’s cement footprint and a value creating business model. This position will contribute to achieving VC’s decarbonization targets and developing a new CO2 economy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and potential partners within the CCR industry, creating clear business strategies for key accounts
  • Be a cross-functional participant in support of VCNA SCMs program with key internal personnel across sales, distribution, product development on development of SCMs within VCNA’s product portfolio.
  • Master and maintain detailed knowledge of the business, competition, and latest industry news and trends, current and upcoming technologies for CCR treatment and beneficiation; and other technologies which hold the potential to expand CCR utilization and enhance the portfolio of opportunities to grow value
  • Manage internal and external resources to develop projects according to defined plans
  • Support the sustainability theme with internal and external stakeholders related to the CCR industry and VCNA’s vision
  • Maintain a safe workplace and strive for zero occupational injuries, accidents, and environmental incidents


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or engineering.
  • Proven track record in Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) industry preferably from experience in power/utilities industries
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation skills as it relates to development of SCMs opportunities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other project management certification an asset
  • Some travel required at times (30-40%), crossing Canada/United States border and overnight stays.
  • Valid G Driver’s license and Passport are a must.
