The Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) is a newly formed and rapidly growing institute within the Dean of Research. As an independent research institute, HAIs mission is to advance AI research, education, policy and practice to improve the human condition. Led by faculty from multiple departments across Stanford, research focuses on developing AI technologies inspired by human intelligence; studying, forecasting and guiding the human and societal impact of AI; and designing and creating AI applications that augment human capabilities.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HAI Events Manager to oversee the planning and execution of high quality events including large in-person conferences, invitation-only events, weekly research seminars, and co-sponsored events. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Events Manager will be responsible for scoping project tasks, team assignments, and guiding the team to create work plans and schedules, as well as managing budgets, vendors, and press/media for events. The Event Manager is a critical role that requires a proactive, organized, and collaborative professional with exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills who partners with a diverse range of stakeholders, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This is a 100% FTE, benefit-eligible, two-year fixed term, renewable position. This position will be based on Stanfords main campus and will be considered for an option of hybrid work arrangement, subject to operational need.

The expected pay range for this position is $99,000 to $122,821 per annum.
