Our Solar Account Manager will drive the closure of sales deals of solar and battery products, as well as services to C&I customers, including terminal companies. If you love being a part of a team, this is the role for you, you will work collaboratively with the Sprague Solar LLC team, internal marketing team, and senior leadership to develop the offer to prospective customers, build a pipeline of new leads, and serve as the point person and key facilitator for converting these leads to signed deals at attractive return profiles. You will also work closely and collaboratively with other critical support functions, such as credit, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure that the business is satisfying all of Spragues objectives and requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director of DG Solar, and will develop, communicate, gain approval, and execute an annual sales plan. The success of this position will be determined by the profitable growth of Sprague Solar LLC.

This is a fully remote position with a preference for candidates located in the northeast region of the US.

Work collaboratively with the Sprague Solar Team, internal and external sales resources, and the marketing team to drive lead generation including:

  • Contribute to the development of existing and new product and service offerings to the C&I market.
  • Support the development of content for brochures, websites, conference booths, trade journal articles, and other trade information.
  • Attend applicable trade conferences or conferences and solicit interest in the Sprague Solar offerings at trade booths or meetings.
  • Identify and onboard 3rd-party brokers with connections to our target customer.
  • Qualify the attractiveness of each lead against the objectives of the business.

Drive the sales conversion process for all qualified leads from start to final deal signing including:

  • Serve as the point of contact and key relationship manager for all qualified leads and manage the entire sales process from start to finish, drive deal closure.
  • Organize meetings with prospective customers and bring in subject-matter experts from Sprague Solar to help support the sales process.
  • Ensure key steps and milestones are well defined and being realized in the sales process and ensure that progress is being made to bring deals to closure.
  • Lead the negotiation process for the finalization of a deal with a prospective customer.
  • Ensure regular communication is provided to the Managing Director, DG solar, the Sprague solar team, and senior management on the progress of sales lead generation and closures. Maintain the information in Salesforce.com.
  • Work with all key stakeholders from the prospective customers team to ensure all questions or concerns are addressed and satisfied.
  • Build and develop a highly functioning team of sales resources as required.
  • Drive sales/margin growth for Sprague Solar at attractive return profiles.

Serve as the key point of contact post-deal closing and project including:

  • Ensure the customer remains well-informed throughout the project execution phase of a deal and mitigate any concerns or issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with the solar project execution team to ensure the delivery of high customer communication and service.
  • Maintain close customer contact post-project completion to ensure all of the expectations were and will continue to be met and to continue to explore ways to deliver additional value-added products and services.
  • Seek referrals and customer reviews from satisfied customers; support the development of case studies that could be used as part of the sales process for future opportunities.

Qualified candidates for this role will have the following:

  • Minimum bachelors degree with postgraduate degree in business preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leads and drive the conversion of leads from start to finish; sales-driven with a mind toward closing deals.
  • Experience in business development in solar and/or other renewables.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • Must be able to build highly functioning sales resources while leveraging 3rd-party brokers to drive new opportunities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communicator, including the ability to successfully lead a customer engagement, present publicly at a trade conference, and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Strong computer literacy including experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to travel.
