We are seeking a Site Lead to oversee multiple utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities in the Houston area. This role is a key addition to our team as we expand our presence in renewable energy.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure optimal performance in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, as well as technical and operational aspects of power plants.
- Manage operations and maintenance (O&M) contractors, and support commissioning activities.
- Supervise technical and O&M personnel to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry best practices.
- Oversee troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations with third-party O&M contractors to maximize safety and efficiency.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including landowners, suppliers, customers, vendors, service providers, and regulatory authorities.
- Assist in developing internal policies, standards, and procedures.
- Enforce HSE policies and ensure that external parties adhere to established safety standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years in a supervisory role for technical and O&M personnel in the solar industry.
- Proven experience working on renewables projects in operations and maintenance phase.
- In-depth knowledge of HV substation equipment and solar power technologies.
- Experience with LOTO procedures and electrical safety practices. NFPA 70E QEW certification for LV and HV is a plus.
- Familiarity with SEL, GE protection relays, RTAC, and inverters from manufacturers such as Sungrow, SMA, and SiemensGamesa is advantageous.
- Experience with energy storage and wind renewable energy is a plus.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage projects and executive-level reporting effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CMMS tools (e.g., SAP PM) is beneficial.
- Must be willing to be fully onsite and rotate between sites in the Houston area.
- Valid U.S. work permit and driver’s license required.
- The role involves 70% outdoor work and 30% indoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
