Job Description

Electrician Plant Watson

  • Position will be located at the Plant Watson
  • Position will be covered by the Memorandum of Agreement between Mississippi Power and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers

Job Requirements

Maintenance electrical instrument & control experience preferred. The position will be filled up to Journeyman Level.

Job Knowledge

  • Intermediate or Advanced electrical aptitude required.
  • A two-year technical certification, associates degree in electronics or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as Journeyman power plant electrician preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools, electrical meters, and calibrators.
  • Advanced knowledge of motors, controllers, switchgear, relays, transformers, generators, and AC/DC systems.
  • Experience in electronics, instrumentation, program configuration, distributed/process control systems, PLC’s, DCS, and plant electrical is preferred.
  • Understanding of power plant systems preferred.
  • Must have the ability to analyze electrical/electronic circuits, perform electrical/electronic testing and calibration, work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
