Job Description

As an Installation Manager, you will be thorough and detail oriented in order to ensure all projects are properly staffed, handled with efficient timing and with the highest attention to quality. You will oversee multiple foreman and teams to ensure training, quality and performance are completed to Solcium standards. Reports to EVP of Operations and Installations.

Essential Functions

Effectively lead and organize teams to install PV systems to include all necessary PV and electrical components

Manage work for multiple installation crews and employees, including logistics, product and material movement and customer engagement

Schedule multiple install teams to distribute workload appropriately

Perform all construction tasks per manufacturers installation guidelines and highest industry standards

Recruit, hire, train, and manage all installers to highest level of proficiency to maintain quality assurance

Reports all pertinent install information to VP of Installations

Track employee hours, performance, quality and other operating metrics to assure installs are completed in a timely and successful basis

Develop and implement all safety protocols and encourage/require a culture of safety in all activities

Develop and implement continuous OSHA certification and training strategies

Verify that all installation documentation (checklists, photos, etc.) are appropriately completed and filed at the completion of every project

Provide updates with job progress and modify plans to resolve delays, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure projects are completed on schedule.

Stay abreast of changes in Electrical and Construction Codes that may impact installations and communicate appropriately to leadership

Communicate effectively with and provide job updates to employees and subcontractors

Follow and train installers to follow engineered plan sets, and complete necessary electrical work per code to minimize failed inspections

Effectively work in partnership with Operations, Warehouse, and Sales teams Perform site survey activities with a team and independently

Review job installation plan and communicate procedures for a professional installation

Assist with project inventory tracking and warehousing of all PV equipment

Manage all installation tools and necessary equipment to mitigate loss

Prepare, load, and organize installation vehicles. Warehouse organization required

Assist in taking installation tools and materials to the roof or installation site

Attend and lead training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety

Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment

Maintain neat, clean and organized job site

Ability to travel between warehouse and job sites

Utilize technology to upload photos and needed requirements to finalize completion

Ensure 100% validation of completed jobs

Additional duties required as needed Experience Preferred

5+ years of leadership experience, electrical experience and PV experience required

High school diploma or Trade School degree related to construction/building sciences required OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience

High level of knowledge of residential and commercial PV, electrical, and structural systems

  • CAD expert reading exp required to communicate with designing team and explain to customers , and approve or make changes in designs for accuracy.

Hold a valid Drivers License

Reliable attendance required

OSHA 10/30 Certification

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal check Candidate Qualities

Excellent customer service skills

Strong Knowledge and understanding of NEC codes

Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills

High ethical standards and personal integrity

Dependable: more reliable than spontaneous

Ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.

Solutions-oriented with the ability solve problems both independently and in a team environment Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Typical work hours are M-F, but some weekends may be required

Ability to traverse/maneuver job sites and survey/assess all aspects of the construction process for extended periods of time

Ability to climb a ladder onto a roof/walk across a roof/install equipment to roof safely

Regularly works in outdoor conditions: inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold and freezing temperatures, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, and allergens

May be exposed to energized electrical equipment and will be required to take appropriate precautions

The employee may routinely handle typical work equipment/materials and be required to lift, move and install materials up to 50+ pounds

Frequent and repeated lifting from ground to various heights up to 50 pounds individually and team lift heavier items

The noise level in the work environment is moderate but could be louder depending on the location of install or demo

Ability to use and learn standard construction equipment and technology with proficiency

Visual acuity to drive motor vehicles and mobile equipment and to read printed and electronic documents

Hearing capacity to receive, perceive and react to common driving and construction environment noises

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
