Summary

The Director of Communications is a key role in will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies to effectively convey our story, strategy, and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the successful candidate will lead a team of communication professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment across all communication channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and drive strategic communication plans to promote SKF&aposs brand and key initiatives across social media, public relations, executive communication, and internal communication.
  • Lead and mentor a talented team of communication professionals across the Americas.
  • Develop compelling content for press releases, presentations, social media, and other communication materials.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, human resources, and other departments to ensure alignment of messaging and communication strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, social media trends, and industry developments to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage crisis communication plans and respond effectively to issues or emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; Master&aposs degree preferred.
  • 10+ in a senior communications role, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Professional fluency in English. Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic communication plans that enhance brand reputation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Media relations expertise, including experience pitching stories, managing press inquiries, and securing media coverage.
  • Crisis communication experience, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure while effectively managing sensitive issues.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Travel 30%
