Job Description
The purpose of the production manager is to ensure that production schedules are met with the greatest efficiency, to foster and improve top organization of the production area, and to connect the communication links in both directions with the production workforce.
- Responsibility and authority to stop production to correct quality problems
- Responsible for achieving production schedule on time
- Responsible for maintaining trained workforce and the accompanying documentation
- Responsible for efficient use of human resources
- Responsible for scheduling production operating plan and overtime required
- Responsible for fostering a clean, organized and visual environment
- Responsible for running daily production meetings with supervisors and staff
- Responsible for reducing labor costs, increasing output capacity
- Responsible for responding to customer concerns in a timely manner
- Ensuring that IATF-16949 requirements are maintained at all times
- Actively pursue and support continuous improvement projects in the production process
- Improve first time yield
Qualifications
- Education required: 4 year technical or business degree
- Experience required: 5-10 years in automotive manufacturing
- Professional license or certificate requirements: None
- Specific skills, knowledge and abilities required: team work, lean manufacturing, 6 sigma, technical knowledge, production scheduling, problem solving
