Job Description

A Solar Systems Designer will collaborate with a distinguished clientele to meticulously devise customized solar solutions, utilizing their profound industry expertise and intricate product knowledge. Additionally, they will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing solar energy systems for clients and projects, prioritizing the development of economically viable solutions. Team members will be compensated with a base salary and stand to augment their earnings through a commission-based bonus plan, potentially exceeding $100k annually.

A successful candidate must be able to:

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and system designs to customers, clearly and professionally addressing any questions or concerns.

  • Interacting with customers new to solar, simplifying complex concepts, and providing an industry-best design experience.

  • Conduct thorough virtual site surveys and load analysis assessments to gather essential data for accurate system design and integration.

  • Tracking the customer design from introduction to completion (installation).

  • Stay up-to-date with the industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the continuously changing solar energy market.

  • Assist in the development and improvement of design tools, processes, and standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and training sessions to further enhance knowledge and stay updated on the latest advancements in solar energy systems and design.

  • All other duties assigned.

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong technical understanding of Signature Solars vast product line from various manufacturers and how they can be utilized in a solar design.

  • Must possess good communication and organizational skills and exhibit the ability to track and follow up on multiple concurrent projects.

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams to provide the best solution to the customers.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

  • Exceptional customer service throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.

  • Collaborating with sales and technical support teams to ensure seamless integration of solar system designs into the overall project plan.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about expanding knowledge and expertise in the dynamic solar energy and other renewable energy solutions field.

  • Strongly believes in the value and benefit of solar and is willing to grow with the company and industry.

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, materials science or a related field is preferred.

  • Previous experience in the solar industry or renewable energy sector is highly desirable.

  • NABCEP PVA certification is highly desirable, PVDS preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, computer work and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
