A Snapshot Of Your Day (position Overview)
The Production Supervisor is responsible for manufacturing products using safe and efficient manufacturing processes through the management of the production team members. Oversee the production process making sure products are produced safely ensuring the highest quality and timeliness and with a commitment to process improvement and business initiatives including Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing. Under minimal direction, supervises all production employees, safety, scheduling assignments, line balancing, evaluation and control of build, monitoring of fulfillment of customer production and quality requirements, control of scrap and rework, efficiency, application of overtime, and documentation of these activities. The incumbent will act as the primary contact for in-house departments for production related issues in assigned areas and must be able to manage a diverse group of people, motivating staff to work together as one team. Strong leadership skill is the most important personal requirement that allows the Production Supervisor to perform within the role.
How You’ll Make An Impact (responsibilities)
- Ensure safe work practices and OSHA compliance are followed by all manufacturing personnel, address deficiencies, and take corrective actions as needed to maintain safety standards.
- Oversee daily production operations by reviewing operating results, coordinating with supervisors to resolve issues, and ensuring cross-departmental cooperation.
- Manage staffing, including accurate distribution of employees, coordination of temporary staff, and training for new or transferred personnel to improve team flexibility and capability.
- Evaluate and authorize overtime for production employees, supervise attendance records, and mediate personnel issues, conducting disciplinary actions when vital.
- Continuously coach and develop the production team to optimize performance and address training needs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Supervise customer production requirements, adjust schedules as vital, and evaluate production reports to make decisions that support both short- and long-term objectives.
What You Bring (requirements)
- 3+ years of direct supervisory experience in investment casting
- 5+ plus years of manufacturing experience involving alignment, assembly work, casting, welding, and machining
- Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or equivalent experience (4 years)
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent, demonstrated experience with computers and Microsoft Office software.
- Conflict resolution experience with an hourly manufacturing workforce
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
