A Snapshot of Your Day
The 2nd shift (Mon. Fri., 4pm – Midnight) Production Supervisor for Large Generator Rotor Operations leads a diverse team of machinists, rotor winders, rotor assemblers, and balancers to manufacture and service large generator rotors. You will start your day an hour prior to shift start to perform a turnover with the 1st shift supervisor. You then compare the current production status against the production schedule to determine priorities and develop job assignments for your employees. At start of shift, you meet with your team. You talk through a safety topic to reinforce our Zero Harm culture, discuss the production status, verbally give the employees their job assignments, and finally discuss shift goals. Throughout the day you demonstrate servant leadership by removing roadblocks and obstacles for your team, participating hands-on with production when needed, and coaching your employees. You monitor and control production, making workforce and priority adjustments as needed. Ultimately, you are responsible for managing your team and ensuring productivity aligns with the production plan.
Our Large Generator Rotor Operations team is responsible for manufacturing large electric generator rotors weighing up to 275 tons. We operate within the Large Generator team to supply new 150 1000 megawatt generators to power plants all over the world. In addition to manufacturing new rotors, we also service generator rotors by providing inspections, rewinds, modernizations, and upgrades.
Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.
