Job Description

This role will be based at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Manufacturing Center Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The facility is planned to be built by early 2026 for production commencement. Consequently, the first part of the journey in this role in our Company will involve overseeing the construction of the factory and the implementation of new processes, as well as managing the development of a high-performance team and coordinating all aspects of the factory setup to prepare for production.

The Final Assembly Manufacturing Manager plays a key role in the last stages of the Large Power Transformer manufacturing process. This role is responsible for delivery transformers, prior to final acceptance test and final transportation. As Final Assembly Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of up to 70 direct and indirect reports ensuring safety, quality and cost. The transformers, at the end of this stage, are properly equipped for remaining steps within the assembly process. This individual will also work closely with Winding Manufacturing Manager and Active Part Manufacturing Manager with the potential of cross managing these teams as needed. The Final Assembly Manufacturing Managers role is critical for ensuring the final assembly and dispatch process is carries out efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all relevant standards. This role requires a combination of strong leadership, technical expertise with a strong focus in quality and efficiency and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

  • Leading production activities according to established into IMS [Integrated Management System].
  • Leading and contributing to production planning processes and determine manufacturing priorities based on established weekly production schedules.
  • Leading and delegating tasks to members of the production team.
  • Taking strategics decisions and making judgments about the acceptability of production.
  • Being a strategic leader, involving different departments to take the right decision at the right moment.
  • Leading and performing risk assessments when a deviation is rising into their responsible areas.
  • Leading, designing and proposing short and midterm development of his production areas [continuous improvement], and sets up and monitors completion of agreed investment projects.
  • Leading and promoting the alignment on planning process to customer entire satisfaction.
  • Performing and leading second level meeting with other departments to attend and solve any deviation during the process.
  • Discussing and providing developmental plans and opportunities for employees.
  • Leading and ensuring coherence with internal guidelines and procedures, and with all relevant external regulations.
  • Leading and defining units budget into planning processes for the respective unit and allocating budget and personnel resources.
  • Controlling and applying the cost into responsible areas to meet the budget defined.
  • Leading, defining and supporting planning for manufacturing capacity and regulative for FY [Fiscal Year].
  • Doing support responding to complex, operations related enquiries, as a proper solution involving, in case necessary, another department [Quality, Engineering, Sales, Project Management and other technical and support functions].
  • Ensures optimum machine utilization and product scheduling implementing target per shift in all responsible areas.
  • Ensure availability of procedures, working instructions, check list, guidelines for all production sections, shift or production lines assigned, aligned with IMS [Integrated Management System].
  • Evaluating and contributing into the implementation of maintenance programs.
  • Deciding and determines critical schedules for orders in the value chain.
  • Performing value stream mapping [VSM] and value stream design [VSD] for their process under responsibility.
  • Performing competence matrix for all team members.
  • Leading and ensuring effective cooperation with external parties and involved internal management.
  • Being a leader to fulfill and/or to support to fulfill all protocols, policies, guidelines, and competences coming from all current system [EHS, QA, CyberSec, etc.].

What You Bring

  • Bachelors degree: Electric, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Industrial Engineering.
  • 10+ Years Experience in Manufacturing Industries with 5+ years in People Management.
  • Experience with electric or power transformers preferred.
  • Six Sigma Certification and knowledge of lean manufacturing principals strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP and HANA Systems
  • Ability to effectively supervise financials and budgeting within the assigned cell.
  • Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance [TPM] and Overall Equipment Effectiveness [OEE].
