A Snapshot of Your Day

The Cleaning Room Associate is responsible for cleaning and deburring parts made from multiple materials to prepare them for assembly or machining.


How Youll Make an Impact

  • Clean, hand wash, blast, vapor blast, rust stripper, automated wash and honite castings, steel, or other materials to prepare them for assembly or machining.
  • Deburr, file, grind, chip, and fit parts made from cast iron, cast steel, malleable iron, nodular iron, sheet and bar steel. Remove burrs, fins, and sharp edges using belt sanders, electric bench grinders, air operated rotary files, and hand files.
  • Inspect work visually to determine quality, finish and general appearance.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as, but not restricted to, hand truck, fork or lift truck, crane, hoist, etc. for incidental delivery or receiving of material to or from adjoining areas of the shop. Deliver or receive material to or from any area of the plant, inside or outside.
  • Cooperate with other departments as required. Perform preventive or minor maintenance as needed.
  • Report any defects to supervisor, and keep work area neat, clean, orderly, and safe.

What You Bring

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED that can be verified.
  • 1 -3 years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift and be flexible enough to work 1st or 3rd shift on occasion as business requires.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, with basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Displays an attitude conducive to progress through positive change, continuous improvement, and active contributor to the teamwork concept; Must be able to demonstrate oral and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

This job is based in Painted Post, New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
