  • This role will require travel in the Northeast (specially New England states). Will not consider candidates outside of New England at this time.

About our Role:

Field Services Technician’s are empowered to work across the country at various SEAM Group clients to conduct assessments, inspections, and complete maintenance on client’s energized assets. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance services to various systems, including electric vehicle charging stations.

As our Field Services Technician – PV Solar O&M, you will:

  • Perform inspections and maintenance activities on electrical, mechanical, and structural components of energy systems, including EV charging stations, Solar systems and battery storage units.
  • Troubleshoot and identify root cause of problems affecting the proper operation of various hardware
  • Open live electrical equipment exposing energized connections for inspection
  • Utilize proprietary software tools provided by SEAM Group
  • Respond to client concerns regarding the performance or functionality of their systems
  • Identify and escalate concerns to the appropriate level and suggest potential improvements
  • Perform other inspection, assessment, and maintenance activities on client’s energized assets as needed
  • This may include but is not limited to operating infrared cameras, DC voltage testing, DAS system integration, conducting ultrasound scans, completing vibration data collections, or completing arc flash or lock-out-tag-out deliveries
  • Adhere to and maintain compliance with SEAM Group Electrical Safety PPE policy
  • Proactively book all components of work travel for assigned jobs including hotels, air travel, and/or car rental
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Analytical ability and high technical aptitude
  • Proven ability to assess customer needs and develop appropriate solutions
  • Electrical trade skills
  • Data Comm skills
  • Electrical trade skills, ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
  • Ability to solve problems on the fly and work in a sometimes-unstructured environment
  • Capable of critical thinking and ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems
  • Ability to interact with client representatives, internal stakeholders, and the general public in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Computer literacy, familiar with windows programs and Microsoft office tools
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively without direct supervision

Successful Field Services Technician will have the following education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience or training in electrical trades
  • Relevant manufacturer’s training (desired, not required)
  • NFPA 70E certification (desired, not required)
  • Proven experience working in a team environment, where customer satisfaction is top priority

In this role, you can expect the following physical demands:

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screening
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, this may include out of state travel
  • Strong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, good hearing, and dexterity
  • Ability to travel via car and plane to visit client sites and other SEAM Group facilities
  • Ability to work in various weather environments and be subject to the elements (i.e., rain, sun, or snow)
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with others, both in person and through phone, e-mail, and written correspondence
