Salary circa 48,000 dependent on experience + 10% bonus

Accountability for the operational performance of external debt collection agencies (DCAs) in the collection of Live debt within the current regulatory and compliance framework. To manage the field and warrant activities with the DCAs.
What youll be doing
Recommend and implement account allocation to external DCAs (dependent upon performance) ensuring that target collections and warrants executed.
Performance manage as part of panel management DCAs to establish trends, highlight collection discrepancies thus promoting external agent competition to maximise profitability.
Manage the tender process with procurement to deliver cost structures and collection strategies with external DCA have to minimise costs, maximise collections and optimise trace activity.
Represent ScottishPower to ensure maximum collection and trace potential is achieved and that the company reputation is maintained at all times.
Continuously review the relationships with existing agents by conducting regular visits to agency premises for the purpose of performance reviews and auditing. Deal appropriately with under-performing agents and develop relationships with new agents.
Ensure adherence to Debt Collection Guidelines, Data Protection standards, Information Security and all other regulatory requirements.
To produce robust performance reporting to understand, analyse and challenge key Agency activity trends & variances.
Forecast, control and monitor Legal and Professional budget and communicate costs and benefits associated with alternative courses of action.
Support the Operational Debt Manager in the development of strategic solutions to prevent debt and maximise cash collection especially with respect to key lessons learned from the DCA processes.
Work with other operational managers across Domestic Debt Operations to enhance awareness of the financial impacts of debt and write offs.
Identify processes that are adversely impacting on Agency activity.
Implement a continuous improvement culture within the team and pro-actively identify problem accounts, patterns and trends.
Minimise CD/CF complaints through the early identification of defective accounts.
Manage the team to ensure that all invoices, remittance processing and daily files between SP and the DCAs are processed within agreed SLAs.
Provide ad hoc support to the Operational Debt Manager as and when required.
What youll bring
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team, who possesses strong negotiation techniques and the ability to analyse statistical information effectively. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in SAP, budget management, and control, including forecasting. A thorough understanding of end-to-end ER processes, particularly in debt collection, and familiarity with the current regulatory framework governing this area is essential. The role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, with a proven track record of managing complex commercial contracts and delivering results in a dynamic environment. Experience with SAP ISU is also highly desirable.
