Salary Range: Based on Experience

Job Type: Full or Part-Time

Description:

SC-B is seeking an individual with a background or knowledge in renewable energy related systems and technologies to work within the SC-B Energy team on multiple energy-related projects and programs. The individual will be responsible for tasks throughout the life of the project beginning with preliminary research through final delivery by supporting tasks associated with the project, including communication with stakeholders, facilitating meetings, conducting research, as well as developing documents and reports.

Energy-related projects or programs may include demand reduction, resilience, energy efficiency and decarbonization at the facility and district level during the design, building or renovation process.

This position requires a proactive, organized individual with strong technical research and writing skills that can collaborate with team members, as well as strategic partners to successfully complete projects for our clients. Projects will require a practical and creative person to identify and develop innovative solutions for our clients.

Potential project subject matter areas: electrical systems; heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems; high-performing or green buildings; air quality; geothermal; or energy procurement.

General Requirements:

  • Required: U.S. Citizenship
  • Must pass background check
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Some travel may be required
  • Degree in Architecture (B.A or M.Arch) or Engineering (B.A. or Masters) is preferred but not required
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project planning.
  • Schedule meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
  • Lead or participate in project meetings, in-progress reviews, and out briefings.
  • Assist with managing multiple priorities and projects, meeting deadlines.
  • Assist with creating, updating and distributing project/client files and generating schedules and reports.
  • Document control and organization.
  • Tracks project budgets.
  • Assists with client and stakeholder communications.
  • Supports change order management, estimates and quality control.
  • Conduct research on best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements in sustainability
  • Proactively seek and provide ideas to address technical issues
  • Create and maintain Process Flow and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Research, review, and comprehend building code requirements, material specifications, performance requirements, and test standards
  • Research and collate supporting documentation for project reports.

Helpful experience:

  • Monitor, analyze, interpret, or create graphical representations of energy consumption data.
  • Identify energy savings opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operation.i.e perform analysis and provide recommendations
  • Direct the work of contractors or staff in the implementation of energy management projects.
  • Conduct research or collect data on renewable or alternative energy systems/technologies, their design, and application; energy production, its use, and conservation.
  • Prepare project research reports and other project documentation, such as progress and field reports. Can assist with preparation and formatting of these reports for publication.
  • Perform marketing activities to promote our company services.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree minimum
  • 1+ years experience minimum
  • Technical Report writing experience

Technology Platforms / Tools and Languages:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project) is required
  • Energy modeling with EnergyPlus or similar is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of CAD and 3D modeling software is preferred but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour
