Construction Manager – Utility-Scale Solar EPC

Salary: $110,000 – $140,000, depending on experience

Location: Texas initially, with future projects across the U.S. | 100% travel with rotation

About the Client & Opportunity

Our client is a renowned international self-performing EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm, making significant strides in the U.S. market. They are seeking a candidate who has experience working for an EPC as a Construction Manager on Utility Scale projects.

With a portfolio of secured utility-scale solar construction projects and a notice to proceed, they are expanding rapidly across the country. The first assignments for this role will be in Texas, with excellent airport and road access to major cities, and further projects lined up nationwide.

To support this growth, we are seeking an experienced Site Based Construction Manager with a background in managing self-perform electrical and mechanical installations for utility-scale solar projects. This is a traveling role that offers the opportunity to be part of a growing team, responsible for delivering cutting-edge solar farms that contribute to a sustainable future.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire construction process on-site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Ensure site safety protocols are followed rigorously, implementing safety plans and addressing any on-site hazards.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics, material deliveries, and inventory for timely project progression.
  • Supervise and manage all site personnel, including foremen, subcontractors, and labor teams.
  • Create and manage work schedules, track timesheets, and ensure proper allocation of resources to meet project milestones.
  • Act as a knowledgeable source for troubleshooting and addressing site difficulties, reporting any issues to the Project Manager and suggesting solutions.
  • Maintain responsibility for overall job progress and ensure all project documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including the Project Manager, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

Required Experience

  • Recent, proven experience as an EPC’s Construction Manager overseeing utility-scale solar projects, specifically in self-perform electrical and mechanical installations.
  • Strong understanding of solar farm construction processes, from site preparation to commissioning.
  • Experience managing large teams and working with subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage construction schedules, logistics, and resource allocation effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards and the ability to implement robust safety plans on-site.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to challenges as they arise.
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time and work on a rotation basis as projects demand.
