Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and data driven experienced engineer to fill a role within our Facilities Engineering team.

This role will work to tackle our most complex problems, drive towards our net zero goal, initiate improvement projects, review designs, and manage projects while overseeing day to day activities including Breakdown Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for improving quality and reliability in support of a semiconductor wafer fab.

This role is within Exhaust Engineering team (Dry HVAC) which is one of Samsung Austin Semiconductor Facilities Operations Management teams. The Exhaust team scope includes Compressed Dry Air systems (CDA), Scrubbed Exhaust, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) exhaust, process vacuum (PVAC), and clean vacuum systems (CVAC).

Facilities systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with process engineer and project manager to align/modify Scrubbed Exhaust system roadmap
  • Plan and oversee execution of preventive and breakdown maintenance of fans, pumps, sensors, tanks, chemical delivery systems and etc.
  • Manage Acid & Alkali scrubbers cleanings and packing replacements
  • Assign failure codes, analyze faulty and failed parts, conduct research and propose replacement parts
  • Select material and parts using site specification
  • Review and improve Maintenance and Instrumentation SOPs
  • Lead incident response with detailed problem solving and root cause analysis and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams in containing and correcting problems
  • Spearhead all phases of improvement engineering projects including justification, engineering design, cost estimating, financial management, project management, and system documentation
  • Provides guidance to operations, maintenance and instrumentation personnel on day to day activities
  • Implement processes & procedures to improve and standardize work across the team & site
  • Participate in Task Force Teams (TFT) to make department wide improvements

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or similar field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in equipment engineering, mission critical operations, process design, consultant firm or technical project management
  • Preferred of 8+ years of experience in equipment engineering, plant operations, process design, consultant firm or technical project management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, And Tools

  • P.E. license is a plus
  • Previous experience in mission critical/plant operations, process design, consultant firm or technical project management
  • Advanced understanding of equipment/material selection and using site specifications
  • Comfortable in reading and redlining blueprints, drawings and P&IDs
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills for assessing problems and developing innovative corrective actions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and highly adaptable to rapidly changing business needs and initiatives
  • Possess excellent time management and priority setting skills while having the ability to effectively advance multiple activities simultaneously and enable on-time project delivery
  • Be able to interface effectively with management
  • Demonstrate ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous data analysis experience/machine learning is a plus
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD, Revit or similar software is a plus
