Our Adfors team is looking for a Digitalization Engineer with expertise in Ignition development to lead the development of various quality modules aimed at testing raw materials, monitoring product controls, inspecting finished products, and digitalizing our performance control systems.

The main role :

  • Developing Quality Modules: Design, develop, and implement Ignition modules to facilitate the testing of raw materials, monitor product controls, and inspect finished products, developing the human interface for our new machinery for monitoring, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Digitalization of Performance Control Systems: Lead the digitalization efforts of our performance control systems by developing robust digital solutions using Ignition, integrating data collection, analysis, and visualization tools to optimize production efficiency and quality control processes.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for enhancing quality control processes, streamlining workflows, and implementing innovative solutions to improve overall production performance.
  • Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation, user manuals, and training materials for quality modules and digitalization systems, providing training and support to end-users as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform thorough testing and validation of developed modules and digital solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues related to quality modules and digitalization systems, ensuring uninterrupted production operations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering, and IT departments to gather requirements, define project scopes, and ensure successful implementation of quality modules and digitalization projects.
  • Stay Updated: Stay abreast of the latest developments and advancements in Ignition development, quality management systems, and digitalization technologies, and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an 18-month mission, non-extendable.

Dublin, GA is convienently located between two metropolitan areas. The plant is roughly 2 hours away from Atlanta and 90 minutes from Savannah. The plant is a ten-minute drive from downtown Dublin, off of Interstate 16.

With the start of the fiberglass approximately 24-months away, many of the skills learned during this assignment would be very useful in finalizing the digitalization of the fiberglass plant and may be a future opportunity for a successful VIE.

What were looking for:

  • Masters degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or any related field.
  • Experience with SCADA systems preferably Ignition development and implementation, with a strong understanding of Ignition modules, scripting, and database integration.
  • Knowledge of quality management principles, statistical analysis techniques, and process optimization methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

You will join the Digitalization Team composed of 3 dynamic individuals; 1 production supervisor, 1 process engineer and 1 quality engineer. You will be working under the supervision of Xiuhnel, the site operational manager.

You will also interact with the maintenance team and the logistic department.

  • If we want to move forward with you, you will have a first interview with our HR Talent Acquisition Team in France (on Teams).
  • In addition to the interview with TA France you can anticapte interviewing with several individuals at the Dublin location through a panel interview approach. We do not anticipate the need for more than two (2) interview sessions. The individuals involved in the interview process will include the Site Director, Operations Manager, HR Manager and Quality Engineer. We have an IT support team in Mexico and we may ask one of them to be involved as well since youll likely have contact with them during the assignment.
  • If you are selected, you will receive confirmation by email and have an Onboarding Day at the Tour Saint-Gobain in Paris before your departure.
