We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Corporate accounting team. As an accounts payable specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication skills. Requirements:
- Associates degree in accounting or finance
- 1-3 years accounts payable and general accounting experience using accounting software
- Proven experience working as an accounts payable specialist or in a similar role
- Solid knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Preferred Requirements
- Basic understanding and high proficiency of generally accepted accounting and business principles, to include understanding expense accounts and cost centers
- 1-2 years of business experience
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments
- Review and verify invoices for proper approval, coding, and accuracy
- Investigate and resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records
- Prepare and process journal entries related to accounts payable
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and streamline operations
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures
- Establish and maintain relationships with affected staff at different SAI locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
